Family Birding Adventure w/ Klamath Bird Observatory
9AM - NOON
Join Sooney Viani and Shannon Rio for family birding fun at the historic Dunn Ranch 9am-12am. Events include learning to make your own binoculars from simple materials and to use them. Learn about some of the common birds seen most every day on the ranch. Learn to use real binoculars and to identify the common birds by the way they look and the way they sound.
Bring a family field journal to add notes and drawings about our time (optional). This is the first of 3 family bird related outings that will take place at the Dunn Ranch this summer. All ages are welcome.
Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, a sun hat and bring water.
Sooney and Shannon are nature educators whose focus is on having fun. Shannon works with the Klamath Bird Observatory, a science based local organization that protects birds. Sooney is a retired elementary school teacher who loves birds and teaching about nature.
